Hey guys, just got back into town from a 10 day vacation to a cruise in Alaska (this will be another post of its own coming soon).  My guitar that I ordered before I left arrived and I am happily playing it.  It’s a Fender Standard Telecaster Sunburst and I did a video of it.  Let this speak for itself.

Just Switched to Comcast – I’m Comcastic!

July 26th, 2009  |  675 views | Published in Technology  |  1 Comment

I just switched ISPs from AT&T Yahoo DSL to Comcast Cable and I am loving it! I went from a 3 mpbs down 512 kb/s up to this crazy cable internet connection that does 6 mpbs down 1 up. But, in reality, I am getting speeds of 8-10 mpbs down and 2 up. Once Comcast upgrades their network to DOCSIS 3.0, which is slated for release next month in my area, they will double my speed to 12 mpbs down / 2 mpbs up. And that is before powerboost which makes it go 15 mpbs down and 4 up. I am very excited with this new speed! And it’s only $19.99, compared to the $30 I was paying for AT&T.

Here’s a speed test.

Comcast Speed Test

I’m Comcastic.

Post your speed tests pictures in the comments below.  Let’s see who has the fastest!

EDIT: Docsis 3.0 is now in my area, and they automatically doubled my internet speed.  Thanks Comcast!

[laatedaa?] Tech Pick of the Day – 6 Feet HDMI 1.3 Cable

July 25th, 2009  |  30,509 views | Published in Tech Pick

This simple HDMI cable is useful for all of your HDMI high def needs.  Don’t buy over priced $50 + HDMI cables from stores like Best Buy and Fry’s where they charge you literally an arm and a leg for.  Except, get it from Amazon here, for less than a buck!

View Comments and Pictures on Public Profiles in Facebook

July 22nd, 2009  |  77,556 views | Published in Codes  |  61 Comments

Update 12/14/09:

New Codes that work, one for Facebook videos @ http://laatedaa.com/forums/index.php/topic,1018.0.html

and the Facebook picture code @ http://laatedaa.com/forums/index.php/topic,1016.0.html

EDIT ****Not working as of 7/31/09, RIP.

Today, a user who requested to be anonymous sent in a new code that allows one person to view the comments and pictures on public profiles in Facebook.

http://www.facebook.com/photo_comments.php?id=XXXXXX

Just replace the red X’s with the friendID you have in Facebook and you will have access to their pictures and comments if their privacy settings are set to “show to the public.”
Enjoy, and thanks again, for the anonymous user who sent this code in.

Let’s hope this lasts for a little longer than a few days.

Further discussion can be done in the [laatedaa?] Forums located here –> http://laatedaa.com/forums/index.php/topic,606.0.html

Additional Information:

Footnote from Patrick: This only opens up albums on a private facebook profile if at least one photo in the album has photo comments.

The album also needs to be set to “everyone” in order for it to work.

It doesn’t work on every profile, unless it meets the “requirements” that were just mentioned above.

Once a photo pops up, you will need to click on the photo and then click “next” in order to advance to the next photo.

Be sure to snag the album IDs and the pic IDs for future codes and/or fuskering.

[laatedaa?] Tech Pick of the Day – Logitech Harmony One Universal Remote

July 13th, 2009  |  266 views | Published in Tech Pick, Technology

logitech-harmony-one-remoteSeriously, a remote that will make your life easier, not harder.  With Logitech’s Harmony One universal remote, you can program all your peripherals to be turned on or off with “one” touch of a button.  Chances are, you may have many remotes laying around, one for your tv, your tuner, dvd player, satellite box, etc…  With this, you can turn all of the devices on and control them by just hitting one button.  Logitech’s software smartly knows to download the remote codes needed for each device, without having you manually go through a list of manufacturers and other gripes about universal remotes.

Help yourself out today by picking one up, especially if you have a home theater.

Garry’s Mod Mythbusters Rocket Sled Episode

July 11th, 2009  |  366 views | Published in Gaming, Videos

I decided to make a Mythbusters spinoff in Garry’s Mod.  I think I chose the most perfect episode that Jamie and Adam did.  It was the Rocket Sled episode.  In this episode, they try to accomplish to vaporize a car which is hit with a rocket sled at 650+MPH.  I think their real video can tell more than I can explain.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aSVfYwdGSsQ

So I made a remake of it in Garry’s Mod with a very similar track and wired it up with multiple angle cameras and all the goodies.  Hope you guys might like it.  It’s a one man deal and it took quite some time to build and plan everything out.

It has to be watched in HD to be enjoyed fully.

Errors on Website

July 8th, 2009  |  192 views | Published in Uncategorized

Sorry guys for the recent downtime.  I am currently fixing the site due to an upgrade in the software used to make the website.  It broke tons of things, and I am trying to get it back to work.  A new theme design may come through this downtime!
