All You Can Eat Tickets for Oakland Athletics Review

June 12th, 2008  |  1,239 views | Published in Comprehensive Review, Sports, Sweet Deals

So, this week for three games, the New York Yankees are playing against the A’s. I haven’t watched a game in about a year or so and decided that doing a good favor to relax and enjoy America’s pastime would be fun for a night. I searched tickets on the A’s website and not surprisingly, the tickets for their “Premium Games” which are Yankees and Giants are more expensive than usual. About $7-10 more expensive than normal home games.

There are many sections to choose from and for about $40 you can get great seats at Field level around 1st or 3rd base lines. Something caught my eye, however. “All You Can Eat.” I wondered to myself, is this some kind of buffet? Their seats are situated at the third level between sections 316 and 318 (puts you behind the home plate). The view isn’t bad either from up here, you can see the whole field and the baseball clearly. I bought three tickets for a few friends to come along and these tickets are $38 dollars. So if you were to calculate it out, the bleacher seats are around $10-15 dollars normally and the All You Can Eat portion adds another $23-28.

New Tennis Racket – Babolat Pure Drive

April 21st, 2008  |  1,946 views | Published in Sports

I have been playing tennis for 5 years now.  I am currently in my high school tennis team.  My racket of two years’ string broke and that was an old Wilson Grand Slam ($40) and replacing the strings and having it stringed would be almost as expensive.  So I thought to myself, might as well get a top of the line racket that I can continue progressing with my skills on.  Pretty much 15 out of 24 players have a Babolat Pure Drive.  So I might as well just land myself into buying one of these.  The Babolat rackets are very nice and are very expensive however.  A Babolat Pure Drive Cortex can run you about $185 (from holabird.com)

It shipped last Monday and I finally got to use it in a match last Thursday.  I also used it again today where I won both times.  The racket feels very solid and stiff, unlike my older racket which felt very fragile.  The strings are strung higher (60lbs vs 55lbs) so I will need to get a little more use to a different serve and a full swing.  I really like the design and the way it looks.  Overall, I love this racket and I hope this is a smart investment I have made.
