Cool Stuff, Daily Tip, Videos, Website Review

I know it has been a while since I posted on the blog, I decided to review a website that has been pretty handy during my college dorm life. It’s called Icefilms.info It’s a website that has links to a bunch of movies, and TV shows that you can stream or download. We always watch a movie or two, when we are finished with our homework of course, and it is a great free way to spend an evening before hitting the sack. Icefilms has the latest releases including some movies still in theater such as 2012. It also has TV shows in which most are high definition quality. The quality of these streams are excellent, even when hooked up to a 42in plasma fullscreened, as we do so in the dorm rooms. The video is excellent (most of the newer movies are great, older ones aren’t too bad) to the point where it is close to DVD quality. The sound is also great when hooked up to a nice pair of speakers (we use Logitech’s Z-2200 THX certified 2.1 sound system). Icefilms does not host any of it’s content, thus making it a “legal” site. There’s a search bar for those who want to have quick and easy access but there’s also an A-Z listing of all movies for the ones who don’t know what to watch. If your on a fast connection, buffer time is about 1 minute and the movie will start playing. All you need to get started watching is Firefox with Greasemonkey Icefilms script, and DivX. After all those are installed, then you are set to watch the extended list of movies they have to offer!

Ever wonder when typing in high level security passwords such as bank accounts, credit card accounts, and stock accounts into Firefox that someone maybe seeing what you type? Well, don’t worry, unless you have a keylogger in your computer. A keylogger is a virus that hides in your computer and runs in the background, logging every keystroke you make. After a certain amount of keystrokes are made, they are then sent via email to the attacker, allowing the attacker to view all the keystrokes you typed in, potentially harming your important information. I just recently installed Firefox 3.1 Beta 1 and the main drawbacks to installing beta versions of Firefox is that you will lose your Addons and Extension ability because those don’t support the beta versions. Although it may be a hazard for myself (running beta code), it’s been fine for me for the past week or so. It is just very annoying that I am not able to access my Addons or Extensions. This fix will help you bypass this “Incompatible” message that Firefox gives you. Read the rest of this entry »

The tutorial shown below is for users who is annoyed by iTunes DRM and wants to strip it off because they want to play it in other devices, use it as background music in a home video, or anything else that DRM limits it to do. Many people know you strip off the DRM of iTunes music by simply burning the song to a CD, and ripping it back over, losing very little quality (if settings are correct). This method does the same exact thing but you will not need a CD-RW disc, a CD ROM drive, or even need to burn anything! It’s that simple. Let’s show you how to perform this.
We are going to be using a program called TuneClone. TuneClone is basically a program that acts as a virtual CD drive that allows you “burn” MP3 from iTunes and “rip” it. TuneClone “lies” to your computer saying that you have a CD-RW drive that it will burn to (like Alchohol 120%).

Finally! If everyone else but you can login to the Steam Network, there is one very simple and easy fix. For the longest time I couldn’t login to Steam. I thought it was merely server side issues so I decided to play the following week. Same thing, “Could Not Connect to Steam Network.”
