Icefilms.info – Watch Any TV Show or Movie Streaming!

December 20th, 2009  |  3,807 views | Published in Cool Stuff, Daily Tip, Videos, Website Review

I know it has been a while since I posted on the blog, I decided to review a website that has been pretty handy during my college dorm life. It’s called Icefilms.info It’s a website that has links to a bunch of movies, and TV shows that you can stream or download. We always watch a movie or two, when we are finished with our homework of course, and it is a great free way to spend an evening before hitting the sack. Icefilms has the latest releases including some movies still in theater such as 2012. It also has TV shows in which most are high definition quality. The quality of these streams are excellent, even when hooked up to a 42in plasma fullscreened, as we do so in the dorm rooms. The video is excellent (most of the newer movies are great, older ones aren’t too bad) to the point where it is close to DVD quality. The sound is also great when hooked up to a nice pair of speakers (we use Logitech’s Z-2200 THX certified 2.1 sound system). Icefilms does not host any of it’s content, thus making it a “legal” site. There’s a search bar for those who want to have quick and easy access but there’s also an A-Z listing of all movies for the ones who don’t know what to watch. If your on a fast connection, buffer time is about 1 minute and the movie will start playing. All you need to get started watching is Firefox with Greasemonkey Icefilms script, and DivX. After all those are installed, then you are set to watch the extended list of movies they have to offer!

Got a New Mac? Get the Essential Software!

January 28th, 2009  |  858 views | Published in Apple, Comprehensive Review, Cool Stuff, Software

I acquired my Macbook Pro in November of 2008 and love it to death till this day. I am not sure how I can live without it. Now there are two parts to enjoying your laptop. 1st is the hardware, which the Macbook Pro surely doesn’t lack. 2nd is the software that goes along with the Mac. Apple’s smart marketing tactic by adding iLife to every Mac makes it just much more valuable to get a computer that comes with a full digital media suite. Read the rest of this entry »

Codez4mac
I have recently stumbled across this site, Codez4mac forum which specializes in Apple software, as well as many Mac OS X programs that one may need in BitTorrent form. Because the Mac community is so closely knit, sometimes, it can be hard to find the exact program you need. Read the rest of this entry »

Pictures: Breaking the Sound Barrier

September 6th, 2008  |  391 views | Published in Cool Stuff, pictures

The “sound barrier” flows around the plane on this pics, although it does not show how the front of the aircraft, typically the nose, or on some fighters, the engine nacelle, hits the front of the “sound barrier”, then slowly leaves the aircraft, and when it does, there is a large “boom”, known as “breaking the sound barrier”, which some of you have obviously heard.
The Boom happens because the plane catches up to and passes the sound it already has produced. At that point there is a collision between the vibrating air (sound) it has produced and the current sound it is making. Faster than this point, the plane arrives to strike before the warning of it’s sound does.

These are actual photos of aircraft breaking the sound barrier

Eponymous big-box colossus IKEA has shown some great green developments lately, from flat-pack bike trailers to eco-friendly lines of housewares. Now the patent purveyor of all things flat-pack has announced plans to invest $77 million into its GreenTech energy fund with the goal of eventually producing solar panels, efficiency meters, and energy efficient lighting. iPhone Game Pad Mockup

August 1st, 2008  |  577 views | Published in Apple, Cool Stuff

I was thinking about how gaming works on the iPhone.  Most of the games available today are mostly accelerometer based.  I saw a recent video about Quake being on the iPhone but it doesn’t seem plausible to have touch screen controls such as for shooting and jumping while moving.  It just won’t work very well if you have those together.  What if we wanted to create a game that was accelerometer based but also add some button functionality that makes gameplay more fun?
