Macbook Pro Hits Apple Employee Purchase Program (EPP)
The new Macbook Pro’s that were announced by Apple on Oct. 14 finally hit the employee purchase program that Apple offers to their employees. It took about 3 weeks for both the Macbook and the Macbook Pro to show up, letting employees use their discount. I asked my contact at Apple to order one for me with their great discount (not telling how much), and I will give a thourough review of the Macbook Pro when it arrives. Read more »

Genius’ Suggestion Tells Me That John Lennon is like…
I thought after hearing iTunes 8.0 new feature, Genius, I would give it a shot. For those of you who don’t know what Genius is, it is a little tool in iTunes that searches your Music library and it will suggest you new songs that you might like based on other people’s library. It can also create a playlist in one-click by clicking a song you like and it will find all songs that are similar (at least somewhat so far) to the one currently playing.
Apple Confirms September 9th Event “Let’s Rock”!
Apple has formally issued invitations for a special event that will take place on September 9th — one week from today — to usher in a new family of iPod digital music players.
The invites, one of which was obtained by ArsTechnica, feature the iconic iPod silouette along with the tagline “Let’s Rock.”
Apple has scheduled the event to take place at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco at 10:00 a.m. local time next Tuesday.
The invites confirm reports of a September 9th event originally waged by Digg founder Kevin Rose. The appearance and wording of the digital documents also suggest the event will be music focused and not serve as a forum for new Mac notebooks, as was recently suggested by AppleInsider, which will come later.
iPhone Game Pad Mockup
I was thinking about how gaming works on the iPhone. Most of the games available today are mostly accelerometer based. I saw a recent video about Quake being on the iPhone but it doesn’t seem plausible to have touch screen controls such as for shooting and jumping while moving. It just won’t work very well if you have those together. What if we wanted to create a game that was accelerometer based but also add some button functionality that makes gameplay more fun?

Perfect DIY-able project you can do with your laptop!
This is a video time lapse of how a guy swapped the hard drive disk of his current Macbook Pro with a 320 GB beast. It’s gonna cost you around 40 minutes for the first timers. Hopefully it will be easier when the new Macbook Pros come out with easy access HDD slots.
