Is your Firefox and Safari all of the sudden acting up and taking a good 10 seconds to “look up” the site before connecting you to it?  If so, to fix this annoying problem, open a new Terminal window, and type in:

dscacheutil -flushcache

and hit enter.  You won’t see anything in Terminal happen except it showing your username again.

If this step doesn’t work, you can add public DNS servers for your Mac to use.  I would highly suggest OpenDNS.com which provides DNS servers for the public to use.  Enter the custom DNS in Network Preferences in the System Preferences, selecting Airport (or Ethernet), click Advanced.  Click the DNS tab and enter in the new DNS IPs.

Restart Firefox or Safari and your all set!

I know many of you know my love and fanboyness for Logitech mice, and there is only one reason for it.  They work so damn well!  Ever since 2000, I have owned a Logitech mouse, and so far, none have failed on me.  I used to own a few of the optical wired Logitech mice, a Media Play Logitech mouse, an MX-518, MX600, and MX1000.  I currently only run one other Logitech Mouse for gaming, which is the Wireless Laser G7 Mouse.  So during my mouse buying frenzy, I decided to pick up a notebook mouse, one that is small enough that could fit in my briefcase without having it protrude but also one that is comfortable for my big hands to hold on to.  I needed this notebook mouse for my travels that can go along with my Macbook Pro, so the mouse had to be Mac OS X compatible (not that all USB mice aren’t but lack support of binding extra buttons).
