Daily Tip 6:Could Not Connect To Steam Network [Solution]

September 21st, 2008  |  Written by Andrew | 7,396 views | Published in Daily Tip, How To's  |  15 Comments

Finally!  If everyone else but you can login to the Steam Network, there is one very simple and easy fix.  For the longest time I couldn’t login to Steam.  I thought it was merely server side issues so I decided to play the following week.  Same thing, “Could Not Connect to Steam Network.”

The Fix: Place your computer out of DMZ (Demilitarized Zone).  You will need to access this somewhere in your router configuration but every router is different so if you want specific router help, post in the comments below or in the forums.

It’s either called DMZ, or uPnP, or something about putting your computer outside of the private network.

If any of you have DMZ on you are nuts!
DMZ is not a good idea unless you absolutely know what you are doing with it.
