This is an extremely cool hack that I found while browsing metacafe. This lets you ‘adjust’ your electricity meter to move slower than normal. Bear in mind that this is probably illegal wherever you’re staying and the proof of concept showed in the video is just way too large for it go unnoticed. But! You could probably come up with something smaller once you know the principles of how this hack works 
Notes: The meter actually works on the principle of magnetic induction (eddy current). When you screw up the magnetic path of the meter, it slows down. I’m not really sure what the distilled water and wires are for though, perhaps its an enhancement. The authors of the video claim its fake (probably so they won’t get their asses sued by any power co’s) but I’m pretty sure it works, as I’ve tested a variant of their device

Right…. all they did was turn off some appliance in the house after sticking it on the meter. as for the bill… any monkey with a computer and priner can fake that….

fyi fellas, there are 2 screws that go between 2 coils inside the meter. adjust them and slow down the speed….

I’m all for interesting hacks like this as a means to learn about the vulnerabilities of the hardware involved, but the idea of promoting not paying for what you’re using is just lame.
It’s not like electricity just pours forth from the earth or hangs from trees. It costs money to generate and to route to your home. If enough people started tricking their meters into spinning half as fast, the power company would have to respond by jacking up the cost of electricity.
Pay your full bill! If you think it’s too expensive, install solar panels and get off the grid!

Its not advisable to do that, Its very obvious you’ll get easily be noticed by your neighbor. Let me share you an easiest way to hack your meter. In this procedure you can control your monthly bills. So in not obvious that you’ve done something on your meter. All you need to do is to hammer it down so that the plate will be displaced. The plate will stop from rotating. Then if you want to get it back just hammer it again. that plate will be rotate.. is so easy but remember moniter your consumption.
